With the recent trend in sustainable eating and enjoying fresh, local fare, Food Services introduced the University of Toronto Farmer’s Market. The market provides an opportunity for local farmers, producers, and artisans to connect directly with customers from within U of T as well as people living and working in the area. The goal is to foster awareness of the benefits of buying local and to provide the community with locally grown, sustainable healthy food.   Eating local is a proactive way to support a sustainable lifestyle that is not only responsible but environmentally friendly. The success of the market can be attributed the the help of volunteers dedicated to providing a variety of tasty treats. The Food Services team is committed to providing healthy and economically responsible food choices on campus. Check out the website and facebook for more information.
